A Journey of Love to Zambia

There are moments in life that remind us just how interconnected we truly are—how love and generosity know no borders.
This May, we experienced one of those moments when we welcomed my parents from Minnesota, bringing with them not only warmth and kindness, but also tote upon tote of incredible donations from their church congregation, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

From the instant they arrived, the excitement was undeniable. Shoes, warm clothing, school supplies, and books were met with wide-eyed joy, each item carrying the promise of care and possibility. More than just donations, these gifts symbolized hope, ensuring that our boys feel supported as they continue their journey toward a brighter future.
But their impact went far beyond material gifts. Their time at Nsansa Village was spent in deep, meaningful connection—laughing, learning, and listening. They joined us in outreach efforts, meeting children still navigating life on the streets, and visited the mother’s shelter, where they witnessed firsthand the struggles of rural village life, particularly for women and children.
As we toured the new land together, the sense of promise for the future was tangible. We envisioned the next steps in our mission, dreaming of expanding our reach and creating even more opportunities for the vulnerable children we serve.
Amidst all the reflection and hard work, there was also space for adventure. My parents fully embraced the beauty of Zambia, experiencing the breathtaking Victoria Falls, marveling at safari wildlife, and celebrating all the spring birthdays—including Owen’s 11th.

Through every moment, their visit reinforced the unbreakable bonds we share—not just as family but as a global community committed to compassion and transformation. Their love, generosity, and presence were a powerful testament to what it means to truly give.
As we continue the Lord’s work, we are reminded that the love that spans oceans has the power to change lives. If you or someone you know has a heart for missions, we would love to welcome you into this journey—our doors are always open.
